Why balance a hot water loop on temperature?
Because temperature is the objective.
Flow is only a way of achieving it.
A branch can have its design flow.
And still run cold at the far end.
If its real losses exceed the calculation.
Why would the calculation be wrong?
Because insulation never matches the drawing.
It is imperfect, damaged, or omitted.
Especially where pipes are hard to reach.
And losses vary with what the pipe passes.
The assumptions are the weak point.
How does this valve respond instead?
