Why is height the main specification?
Because one room needs several heights.
A lower position for younger children.
At least one at an accessible height.
And a standard height for everyone else.
Often all along the same wall.
What does the frame fix?
The fixture centres and the connections.
At whatever height was chosen.
Repeatably, across a row.
So each position is achievable.
And identical to its neighbours.
Why does setting-out matter so much?
Because a row is judged on alignment.
Tops level where they should be.
And spacing even along the wall.
That is decided when frames are fixed.
Not when fixtures are hung.
Can a badly set row be corrected?
Not without opening the wall.
The connections are built into it.
So the fixture cannot move much.
Frames fixed by eye stay wrong.
Set them out from a datum.
What flush arrangements does it have to take?
Several, and they mount differently.
Concealed cisterns and pipe-fed valves.
Manual plates and sensor flushing.
Each needs different provision inside.
Decide before the frame is boarded.
What does a sensor flush need?
Power, or a place for a battery.
Inside the frame, reachable for changing.
That is a first-fix decision.
Not a fittings choice made later.
Retrofitting it means opening the wall.
Is there room to adjust the waste?
Very little, once it is built in.
Urinal wastes sit close to the fixture.
The frame positions trap and outlet.
A fixture it was not set for may not connect.
Confirm the fixture before fixing frames.
